Chelsea Line Up Nagelsmann As Potter’s Successor

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly on the "shortlist" to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea, should he be sacked.

Why did Nagelsmann get sacked?

At just 35 years of age, Nagelsmann remains an extremely young manager who has already been around for a number of years, initially making a name for himself at Hoffenheim. The German's performance as manager there eventually saw him land the RB Leipzig job, which then led to him taking charge of Bayern in 2021.

While he tasted Bundesliga glory with the German giants last season, the 2022/23 campaign has been a more challenging one, with the title race far tighter and performances not as convincing in general. Ultimately, this dip in form combined with a dressing room split cost Nagelsmann dearly and he was sacked last week, in what was still considered a surprise development by many.

He has since been linked with the vacant manager's job at Tottenham, following the exit of Antonio Conte, but an intriguing update has now emerged regarding Chelsea's potential interest in him.

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann shakes hands with Thomas Muller.

Will Nagelsmann join Spurs or Chelsea?

Taking to Twitter, Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that Nagelsmann is in the frame to replace Potter at Chelsea if the Englishman is moved on at some point in the near future:

"News #Nagelsmann: Understand he’s on the shortlist of #CFC! In case that Potter should be dismissed. But important: Chelsea wants to continue with Potter, the bosses support him. But he has to deliver now! JN is unlikely to take over a new job immediately."

This is certainly an interesting update, with Nagelsmann such a talented manager who still has so many years to improve in his job, given his tender years. He has been lauded for tactical brilliance since his 20s, which is hugely impressive, and he is someone with fresh ideas who would hopefully be considered a long-term success.

That being said, it is important that Chelsea continue to give Potter time to fully get his ideas across, with the Blues' form improving of late and a Champions League quarter-final tie with current holders Real Madrid to look forward to soon. Granted, the 47-year-old must continue on an upwards curve, in order to stave off the threat of losing his job, but for now, Nagelsmann should only be considered a strong target if things go backwards.

Should the time come that Potter is relieved of his duties, the ex-Bayern man should then be looked at as one of the standout contenders to take charge, given his standing in the game, assuming Spurs haven't got him by then.

Man United Could Find Their Next Garnacho

In a season that has largely been full of positives for Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, one of the most notable success stories has been that of teenage sensation, Alejandro Garnacho, with the 18-year-old having swiftly established himself as a key part of the first team.

After announcing himself with his heroics in last season's glorious FA Youth Cup run – notably netting twice in the final in front of a packed Old Trafford crowd – the Madrid-born menace has since continued that momentum into the senior set-up so far this term.

Despite initial concerns over the youngster's attitude that inhibited his involvement in pre-season, the Argentine international has enjoyed a meteoric rise of late, having already bagged four goals and five assists in all competitions in the current campaign.

The former Atletico Madrid product has earned rave reviews for his fearless and captivating attacking play, having been hailed as a "real threat" and "dangerous" by club legend, Paul Scholes back in January.

While the exciting showman was cruelly been struck down by injury prior to the international break, that momentary setback will likely not overshadow what has been a truly memorable, breakthrough campaign for Garnacho.

For all the excitement that the wing wizard is generating of late, however, there will already be one eye on just who could be the next starlet to emerge from United's youth set-up, with the club having a history of producing dazzling, attacking talents, in particular.

Although it may still be a number of years before a place in the first team does arise, teen sensation Amir Ibragimov does appear to be one potential candidate who could emulate Garnacho in the future.

Who is Amir Ibragimov?

It is undoubtedly wise not to get too carried away with a player who is still only 15, yet the Russian-born, England youth international is certainly causing a buzz at Old Trafford at present.

Lauded as "very highly rated" by Manchester Evening News journalist Rich Fay, Ibragimov was said to be the subject of "serious interest" – as per Fay – prior to signing on the dotted line with the Red Devils last year, with that an indication of the potential future star that Ten Hag could have on his hands.

Despite his youth, the precocious talent – who also typically operates on the left wing, like Garnacho – has already featured at U18 level in recent times, providing one assist in five league games at that age group this season.

Alejandro Garnacho and Erik ten Hag

As per The Sun, the young gem only recently caught the headlines after scoring against Liverpool twice in one day for both the club's U16 side and U18's, with such an impact only likely to spark even further excitement regarding his future prospects.

Like Garnacho – who has been lauded for his "direct" nature by Scholes – Ibragimov is also seemingly a real handful for any backline, with Russian Footbik describing him as a "dynamic forward" who "uses his speed and directness to unsettle the opposition defenders".

To think that Ten Hag could have another Garnacho in the pipeline is truly exciting indeed, with it now an anxious wait to see if Ibragimov can continue his rapid development in Manchester.

Leeds Could Ditch Koch For "Flying" £2k-p/w Machine

It proved yet another grim day for Leeds United on Saturday afternoon as the Whites were hit for four by league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates, with the away side's defensive woes having been laid bare once again.

The relegation-threatened outfit have now conceded 48 Premier League goals so far this season – the fourth-worst record in the division – with such a leaky backline potentially set to prove costly in the battle to stave off the drop.

One notable villain against the Gunners was that of Germany international, Robin Koch, with the 26-year-old having been replaced in the closing stages after producing an indifferent display, looking 'rash' in the words of 90min's Grey Whitebloom.

The former Freiburg man won just 50% of his total duels as a marker of his woes in north London, with the struggling asset having previously been branded "horrible to watch" by Leeds Live reporter, Beren Cross.

It would appear that the £40k-per-week dud is proving a real liability for Javi Gracia and co at present, with it potentially something of a blessing that the centre-back could be set for pastures new this summer, amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Whether or not the eight-cap dud – who has just over a year to run on his current deal – is moved on, the Yorkshire could already have a perfect replacement lined up ahead of next season in the form of 20-year-old sensation, Charlie Cresswell.

How is Charlie Cresswell getting on at Millwall?

For all Koch's woes, young Cresswell is currently "flying" on loan at second-tier side Millwall, as per journalist Lee Sobot, having made 28 Championship appearances so far this season, with 25 of those coming from the start.

The Preston-born titan has thus far been restricted to just seven first-team outings back at Elland Road, although is currently showcasing just why he can be a long-term fit at the heart of Leeds' defence, having only recently been lauded by Lions boss Gary Rowett:

“You’re so aggressive and want to do well but in that position you have to play with a calm head as well as aggression. He has really calmed down and matured in how he thinks about the game.

“He’s getting the benefit from it because he has got amazing attributes for a young centre-back – aggression and desire, sometimes you can’t find them as much nowadays. Honing them is easier than finding them in the first place.”

In what is the England U21 international's first full season at senior level, the 6 foot 3 colossus has been an immense asset for the top-four hopefuls, having notably contributed four league goals so far this term, while also providing two assists and averaging 0.3 key passes per game as a marker of his ball-playing quality.

Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell

That quality in attack is far superior to what the aforementioned Koch has achieved so far this term, with the senior man having been unable to register a single goal or assist in the top flight, while also averaging zero key passes per game.

With Cresswell's defensive record of 1.5 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game also similar to that of Koch – who averages 1.5 for those same two metrics – it would appear that the youngster would be an ideal successor in Gracia's side.

The differing fortunes of the pair is also showcased by the fact that the Englishman has racked up a standout Sofascore rating of 7.13 so far this term, while the current Leeds man has an average rating of just 6.71.

In truth, it should not be too long before young Cresswell is given the chance to prove his worth back at Leeds on a consistent basis, with that promotion to the first team for the £2k-per-week machine potentially set to come at Koch's expense.

While it remains to be seen just what division the club will be competing in during the 2023/24 season, the exciting talent has earned the right to be afforded a regular role in the side.

Rangers Could Sign £4.5m Star To Form Scary Duo

Glasgow Rangers look like they are already preparing for life without Ryan Kent as they have recently scouted winger Luis Palma.

Kent’s contract expires at the end of the season and with nothing confirmed regarding an extension, the Englishman could well leave the Ibrox side for free, which would represent a major blow for Michael Beale.

It was revealed last week that the Light Blues were keen on Palma, and they had sent scouts to oversee his performance for Aris against Olympiacos and the club have monitored him all season.

According to the Daily Record, he could cost £4.5m and the Glasgow side are facing competition from Anderlecht for his signature in what could be an interesting few weeks ahead.

Beale will need to strengthen his attacking options, and although he will surely be backed in the transfer window, the 42-year-old won’t have vast sums to work with and therefore will have to be smart with his decisions.

Could Rangers sign Luis Palma?

With regular European football and a chance to win trophies on a regular basis, the Gers have everything in place to entice the winger to Scotland, and he is within their budget.

The Honduran has been in wonderful form this term for Aris, scoring ten goals and registering six assists, while his positional versatility could also give him an advantage, being able to operate across the front three if required.

The winger could create a rater menacing attacking duo with striker Antonio Colak, who could thrive with Palma setting him up on a regular basis.

The Croatian hitman has settled fairly well at Rangers, scoring 17 goals, yet he has often looked like an isolated figure, leading the line on his own.

Under Beale, this has become less and less of a problem, however with Kent not exactly enjoying his best season – scoring just three times – and seven-goal Fashion Sakala either hit or miss, a player in the mould of Palma could work wonders for him.

Palma delivers 0.9 crosses per game along with averaging 1.3 key passes and Colak could be on the receiving end of these, waiting in the penalty box and utilising his excellent finishing skills.

Antonio Colak for Rangers

The 23-year-old does play slightly deeper according to his heatmap from this season via Sofascore, looking to play passes inside which could suggest that dribbling is not his strong suit, which is evidenced by completing just 43% of his attempted take-ons this term.

This may not be a bad thing, with Colak performing best when able to link up well with someone, and even he could drop deeper to take the ball and try and make things happen, making him less isolated in the process.

Signing Palma may cost Rangers a significant amount, yet it could be a fantastic investment for the future.

Leeds: £100k-p/w Livewire Can Terrorise Van Dijk

Leeds United know full well that they need to start picking up points. With results going awry over the weekend, and big rivals having picked up key points, the Whites know that a loss tonight against Liverpool would condemn them to a terrifying final seven games of this season amongst the strugglers.

It seems that with the conclusion of his campaign speedily approaching, some teams like AFC Bournemouth are thriving, and the likes of Everton and Leicester City are sinking. The main goal should be to just stay above the latter, and Javi Gracia will know that securing a result against a side like the Reds will go a long way towards achieving that.

Also, the confidence that avoiding defeat could provide would be instrumental in lifting spirits after their miserable 5-1 drubbing at Crystal Palace last week.

The only upside to facing the Reds tonight is that Jurgen Klopp's men are far from the unstoppable machine they have been in the past, showing plenty of deficiencies that have resulted in their tumultuous year.

Gracia could seek to exploit that, focusing mainly on the struggling Virgil van Dijk to extract some joy.

In front of a raucous Elland Road crowd, who will cheer every offensive action, high press and tough tackle, there are few who embody all three of these characteristics more than Rodrigo, who must return.

Will Rodrigo play vs Liverpool?

Having enjoyed his finest goalscoring season yet in the Premier League, with 11 goals to his name already, this coincides well with the loss of form of the hulking Dutchman.

It seems that since returning from that fateful ACL injury, the 31-year-old has been just slightly off the pace in his defensive interactions. As such, he has endured some questionable high-profile blunders, drawing ridicule.

Jason Cundy even took to talkSPORT to brutally rip into the Champions League winner, claiming: "He has this languished style of run, he seems to try and bide time but doesn't react. I think he has had a good 18 months.

"People compare him to John Terry and Rio Ferdinand but he cannot lace their boots."

leeds-united-crystal-palace-premier-league

That is not to suggest he has been poor this season, as a 7.04 average rating is more than respectable. It just marks a large drop-off from the 7.26 the year earlier, suggesting there are now glaring weaknesses to his game.

This will likely have piqued the interest of Rodrigo, who seeks to add to his already impressive year in front of goal. With a sharp turn of pace and intelligent movement to boot, the £100k-per-week finisher has been inevitable at times this season with his proficiency.

Sky Sports man Aaron McClean had praised the 32-year-old for performance during a key result to secure survival last season. He had noted that the forward was a "livewire", and that kind of quality could be key again today.

If he is to be paired with Patrick Bamford tonight, as Gracia seeks to apply further pressure to their opponent's weak spots, the Spaniard could be key in driving his team forward and spurring on the crowd. Anything more than a loss tonight can be deemed a success, but there'll be a quiet confidence that the hosts can snatch all three points.

Rangers Teen Could Be Their Next Ryan Jack

Michael Beale faces an intriguing summer transfer window in charge of Glasgow Rangers, especially if a mass exodus of first-team stars occurs.

All in all, seven members of the Ibrox first team are out of contract at the end of the season and although Beale would love to retain a couple, there are some who have naturally come to the end of their journey at the club and will be released.

This could leave a gaping hole in his team, which will of course need to be filled with new players, whether that is from free agents, loan deals or even spending money on a couple of quality signings ahead of 2023/24.

Another avenue the manager could go down is promoting from within. The academy is producing some top-tier talent of late, with the likes of Alex Lowry, Leon King and Robbie Ure all making their debuts after impressing at youth level and Charlie Lindsay could be the next youngster to make an impression in the first team.

Who is Charlie Lindsay?

The 19-year-old has been at the Light Blues since 2020 and has progressed into the B team with ease and his performances this season suggest that a senior debut shouldn’t be far away.

Across 38 appearances in all competitions, Lindsay has scored 12 goals and registered seven assists from a midfield position, and he has wonderful versatility, being able to operate either as an attacking midfielder or in a slightly deeper role to great effect.

With Ryan Jack one of the players who will see his contract expire at the end of the season, Beale will be looking to potentially replace him if he goes, or if he does remain, secure a long-term heir for the Scot. Lindsay might just be the prime candidate.

Jack is slightly more defensively minded but can control games extremely well from the middle of the pitch and this is a key attribute that the Northern Irishman has in his locker.

Jordan Campbell praised the former Glentoran talent as someone who was capable of “running the show” for Rangers, while also describing his passing ability as “absolutely sublime”.

With Jack holding a pass success rate of 91% this term, the similarities could allow Lindsay to prosper when he makes the breakthrough at senior level.

Ryan Jack and James Tavernier for Rangers

The youngster is another talented starlet who looks ready to make an appearance for the first team before the end of the current season, particularly with there being nothing to play for and Beale could see how he reacts to playing against senior opposition.

Jack may have a year or two left if he does extend his stay, yet planning ahead for an heir apparent could pay dividends, with Lindsay at the front of the queue.

Newcastle’s Remaining Fixtures And Points Prediction After Everton Victory

Newcastle United have six fixtures of the 2022/23 Premier League season remaining and they have put themselves in an extremely strong position to secure a top-four finish and therefore qualify for the Champions League.

The Magpies ran wild once again on Thursday night when they secured an emphatic 4-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park and Eddie Howe will be hoping that the north-east outfit continue their outstanding form during the run-in.

The St James’ Park side have four of their final games at home so having the majority backing of their supporters is something that they need to capitalise on to get them over the line, so with that being said, here’s how we think their remaining matches will pan out.

Newcastle fixtures

• 30 April: Southampton (h)

• 7 May: Arsenal (h)

• 13 May: Leeds (a)

• 18 May: Brighton (h)

• 22 May: Leicester (h)

• 28 May: Chelsea (a)

Newcastle v Southampton

Southampton manager Ruben Selles.

Following the 4-1 away win over Everton, the St. James' Park outfit next return home on Sunday to host Southampton and they will be full of confidence that they can continue their outstanding run of form having scored ten goals alone over the past two games.

The Saints will know that they are in serious trouble after failing to beat relegation-battling rivals Bournemouth, and whilst they desperately need to start collecting points to aid their chances of survival, logic suggests that they won't be able to take anything from the game in the northeast.

Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Southampton

Newcastle v Arsenal

Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.

The Magpies are set to hold back-to-back home games when they welcome Mikel Arteta's Arsenal to St James' in what is sure to be the most difficult remaining fixture of the run-in. The Gunners lost control of the title race when they suffered that heavy 4-1 defeat to top-of-the-table rivals Manchester City meaning that they will miss out on the trophy should Pep Guardiola's side win all of their final matches.

The Emirates Stadium outfit will know that they have to put up a strong fight in front of a loud and excitable crowd in the northeast should they want to take something from the game, but based on recent form, they might have to settle for a point.

Prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

Leeds v Newcastle

Leeds United manager Javi Gracia.

After what are sure to be two fast-paced and entertaining games against Southampton and Arsenal, Newcastle hit the road once again when they travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds who are in real danger of being relegated, sitting just one point above the relegation zone where they face dropping down to the Championship.

The Whites held the Magpies to a goalless draw the last time the two sides met in the reverse fixture of this game back in December, but considering how much the standards and level of performances of both clubs have changed since that time, you'd expect the visitors to wrap up a comfortable victory in West Yorkshire.

Prediction: Leeds 1-3 Newcastle

Newcastle v Brighton

Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier.

Eddie Howe's outfit return to Tyneside for their penultimate home game of the season when they host Brighton and Hove Albion, who are still in with an outside chance of qualifying for some kind of competition in Europe despite recently suffering a surprising 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Roberto De Zerbi's Seagulls will be looking to capitalise on the fact that they have got at least two games in hand on their opponents that are around them in the table, but the black and white stripes won't go down without a fight.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-2 Brighton

Newcastle v Leicester

Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton.

Alongside Southampton and Leeds, Leicester are another team fighting for their lives to stay in the top flight that Newcastle are set to face during their remaining fixtures between now and the end of the season, with Dean Smith having a mixed bag of a start to life in charge, winning one, drawing one and losing one of his three opening games at the King Power.

The Foxes' inconsistency could be a main reason as to why they find themselves in relegation bother, and the chances of them pulling a shock result out of the hat in front of the north-east massive are very slim, so this should be a comfortable three points for Howe.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Leicester

Chelsea v Newcastle

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard.

Newcastle's Premier League season concludes with a trip to London in what is sure to be a thrilling encounter with a lot potentially on the line for the visitors.

The Magpies gaining a positive result on the final day of the campaign could prove definitive in their hunt to finish in the top four, but with the Blues wanting to send their fans home for the summer happy and with a win following their disappointing term, this fixture could prove to be the unlikely banana skin that no-one saw coming.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle

• Predicted run-in points: 11/18

• Predicted total points: 73

Crystal Palace Eye Move For In-Form Championship Striker

Crystal Palace are believed to be interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom this summer, according to an exciting new transfer rumour.

Is Akpom having a good season?

The 27-year-old is having a season to remember for 'Boro, proving to be one of the Championship's best players and even winning the division's Player of the Season award last month. He has been a relentless source of goals throughout the campaign, netting 28 times in 37 appearances and helping his side into the playoff places.

Akpom still has work to do this season, in terms of helping inspire Michael Carrick's into the Premier League, with some tense playoff games now on the horizon this month. Should 'Boro failed to return to the top flight, however, there is sure to be interest in their star player's services once the summer transfer window arrives.

The Englishman's current deal expires at the end of this season, meaning he could be snapped up for free if he doesn't sign a new contract at the Riverside Stadium. That's where Palace come into play, as they eye up attacking reinforcements in the summer, and namely a new centre forward.

Could Crystal Palace sign Akpom this summer?

According to TEAMtalk, the Eagles are "ready to launch a move" for Akpom this summer and are "drawing up plans to bid for the former England U21 international", implying a new contract won't stop their attempt. It is also claimed that the striker would "relish" the opportunity to move back to London, having been in Arsenal's academy before departing back in 2018.

Palace will reportedly make a move for Akpom regardless of how Middlesbrough's playoff campaign goes, seeing him as a strong option to bring into the top flight.

He could certainly be an exciting signing, given the prolific nature in which he has scored for 'Boro this season, and while the step up to the Premier League is clearly great, he could be the man Palace are desperately in need for, in terms of providing consistent end product.

This season, Eberechi Eze is leading the scoring charts in the league with just eight goals, which highlights the need to bring in a true marksman who can net somewhere between 15 and 20 strikes per year. Granted, there is the risk that Akpom could find the move hard and not be as prolific, but he has been hailed as "incredible" by journalist Chris Wheatley, and at 27, would be coming in right in the prime of his career.

Ten Hag eyes £130million swoop for Osimhen

Manchester United may now be the only club who can afford to sign Napoli goal machine Victor Osimhen as a report links him with a move to the Premier League.

Are Manchester United favourites to sign Victor Osimhen?

Manchester United could be the favourites to sign Victor Osimhen this summer as Simon Jones reports for the Daily Mail that Erik ten Hag is "eyeing" a £130m deal for Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward has attracted huge interest from around Europe with his explosive performance in Napoli's title-winning season. From powerful headers to nuanced finishes and combining with the mercurial Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen has 28 goals and five assists to his name this term.

A transfer battle has emerged between United and Chelsea which involves Christian Pulisic – the American is being put up for sale this summer and a number of Italian teams are are eyeing him, with interest from Napoli very serious.

Soccer Football – FA Cup – Final – Chelsea v Liverpool – Wembley Stadium, London, Britain – May 14, 2022 Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold in action with Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic Action Images via Reuters/Peter Cziborra

Jones writes that "Napoli's interest (in Pulisic) could add extra spice" in the race to sign Osimhen but the Serie A outfit are demanding a mouth-watering sum of money to sell the striker. "The consensus" at United and Chelsea is that he will cost around £130million.

That figure is reportedly already a problem for Bayern Munich and they have switched their focus to Randal Kolo Muani. Chelsea meanwhile are facing scrutiny from Financial Fair Play, and while the Blues will hope to reduce the cost by using Romelu Lukaku in a swap, United are the only named suitor without a financial issue.

The Glazers signing Osimhen would be financially more straightforward but it's still a tremendous amount of money to spend on a single player – it would restrict how they could spend on other players, but it would take their attack to an incredible point.

How could Manchester United set up if they signed VIctor Osimhen?

If ten Hag signed Osimhen this summer, he would have a very enviable attack. Marcus Rashford has come into his own this season and is dominating defenders in 1v1s by using his pace and agility to skip past fullbacks. Crucially, he has taken his overall game to a new level.

In total, the Englishman has 29 goals and 11 assists and with the hope that Antony could improve next season, United are an elite centre forward away from an extremely dangerous attack.

Soccer Football – Serie A – U.S. Sassuolo v Napoli – Mapei Stadium – Citta del Tricolore, Reggio Emilia, Italy – February 17, 2023 Napoli’s Victor Osimhen celebrates scoring their second goal REUTERS/Jennifer Lorenzini

Osimhen could be that player for ten Hag especially as Bruno Fernandes would likely flourish with so many deadly options in front of him. Cagliari boss Walter Mazzarri praised the Nigerian forward after he scored to put Napoli 1-0 up in 2021, highlighting a characteristic that would be of vital use to United.

"Osimhen is phenomenal because he runs alone at five players and gets through," Mazzarri told DAZN as quoted by Football Italia.

"If you look at genuine scoring opportunities, compared to the number Napoli created lately, I didn’t see that many."

Osimhen is in the 99th percentile for non-penalty goals and in the 97th percentile for shots on goal, according to Fbref. He's a master at creating goal scoring chances from nothing from making runs into dangerous areas and bombarding his way past defenders. If he joined United, it would spell major trouble for any sides aiming to win the 2023/24 Premier League title.

Man United Could Sign £80m Revelation From PL Club

Manchester United will surely look to continue their rebuild of the squad over the summer transfer window and now a new update has emerged on their plans for the transfer window.

What's the latest on Moises Caicedo's future?

According to 90min, Manchester United retain their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion ace Moises Caicedo.

As per the report, Brighton will now listen to offers of around £80m for their talented midfielder this summer and a host of elite Premier League clubs will compete to secure his signature, including Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal alongside the Red Devils.

Who would Caicedo replace in the Man United team?

With Casemiro in the latter stages of his career at 31 years old, finding a worthy successor will be no easy task for Erik ten Hag as he continues to refresh and rebuild the Man United squad.

As a result, if an opportunity is presented to secure the services of Caicedo this summer, it would be unwise for the Red Devils to ignore it, as the Ecuadorian could not only be an incredible heir to the Man United superstar, but an ideal partner for Casemiro to work with to eventually pass the baton on to in the defensive spot.

moises-caicedo-premier-league-liverpool-transfers

When comparing the two players, they are similar, particularly in their defensive involvement with Caicedo having made 1.55 tackles and interceptions per 90 minutes compared to Casemiro's 1.50.

They also make a similar number of ball recoveries per 90 minutes (7.14 vs 8).

Caicedo's outstanding form in the Premier League has seen him earn a lot of praise over the season so far, with Jamie Redknapp full of compliments for the South American talent:

"He has been magnificent, he possesses all the attributes to play in every area, brilliant tackler.

"He’s progressive with his passing, a revelation and I’m sure a lot of clubs will be looking at him right now. He also has an eye for goal. Very, very impressed with this guy."

The Man United boss will surely be keen to build a squad that competes at the highest level and puts the club firmly back in the mix to dominant English football, so the signing of youthful prospects like Caicedo would certainly put the club on the path to success.

With that being said, the powerbrokers at Old Trafford will need to put in a lucrative offer to fend off their Premier League competitors for the signing of Caicedo, but if his recent form is anything to go by it would be absolutely worth it.
