Confira as notas:

BOTAFOGO

6,0

5,0
Luis Ricardo

6,0
Matheus Fernandes

Brenner
Entrou no fim. Fica sem nota

5,5
Téc: Jair Ventura
Seu time deixou o jogo a gosto do Palmeiras no primeiro tempo.

6,5
Róger Guedes
Conseguiu a falta no primeiro gol palmeirense e antes deu boa ajeitada para Deyverson. Também substituído na etapa final.

6,0
Keno

7,0
Deyverson
Brigador, o centroavante participou bastante do jogo.

6,0
Raphael Veiga

Time mostra segurança e continua a subir na tabela.

Gayle and Sarwan punish England

Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan turned the first Test at Sabina Park emphatically in West Indies’ favour with a classy second-wicket stand of 142 that spanned the final 48 overs of the second day

The Bulletin by Andrew Miller05-Feb-2009West Indies 160 for 1 (Gayle 71*, Sarwan 74*) trail England 318 (Pietersen 97) by 158 runs

Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan turned the first Test at Sabina Park emphatically in West Indies’ favour with a classy second-wicket stand of 142 which spanned the final 48 overs of the second day. By the close, the two men were in total command of an England attack that lacked venom but also failed to match the dogged consistency that West Indies themselves had shown on the first day. England, who had initially thought that their first-innings total of 318 was a par score on a tricky pitch, were left wondering if they had short-changed themselves. The stand between Gayle and Sarwan was a curious blend of diligence and flamboyance. Gayle, in front of his Kingston faithful, was the principal aggressor, predictably enough, although his boundary-count was curiously low by his usual blade-flashing standards. He struck just three fours and three sixes in 120 deliveries, but all three of his maximums were statements of bold intent. The first, off a bewildered Andrew Flintoff, came in only the second over of the innings, while Gayle had faced only three balls from both Steve Harmison – overlooked for the new ball in spite of his 7 for 12 on this ground five years ago – and Monty Panesar, before belting each of them into the stands. But in between whiles, Gayle was content to sit back in the crease and invite England to tire themselves out under the Caribbean sun. His languid presence brought the best out of Flintoff in a feisty duel with the new ball, but it had the opposite effect on Panesar who began his spell with purpose and sharp spin reminiscent of Sulieman Benn’s first-day efforts, but as the day wore on and the task at hand grew stiffer, he once again resorted to the flat, predictable darts that had been so condemned on the tour of India before Christmas. Stuart Broad also had a poor day with the ball, and though Ryan Sidebottom found appreciable swing with the new ball, he offered too much width to be a real threat in his first Test appearance since August. At the other end, Sarwan was right in the thick of things – counter-punching gamely with his favourite off-side repertoire, particularly against Broad whom he cracked for three fours in four balls, and Panesar, who was elegantly threaded through the covers on the many occasions he overpitched. England, however, will feel aggrieved that Sarwan was still there to torment them at the close, after he was reprieved on 5 via the new referral system that will doubtless remain one of the talking points of the Test.Though West Indies encountered the process on their tour of New Zealand last month, for England it was a brand new experience and one that brought mixed results. It did enable them to claim an early breakthrough when a not-out appeal for lbw against Devon Smith was overturned by the third umpire, Daryl Harper, but they were later denied a second wicket when Sarwan was reprieved on review, after doubts about the height of Harmison’s successful lbw appealUmpire Tony Hill was at the heart of both instances. The first came in the sixth over, when Smith completely lost sight of a Flintoff yorker, and was trapped plumb in front of the stumps. Hill initially turned down the appeal because, to the naked eye, Smith appeared to have been struck outside the line, but after a quick glance at the captain, Andrew Strauss, the decision was sent upstairs, and duly reversed. Flintoff, to his credit, sought out the umpire amid England’s celebrations, and gave him a quick pat on the shoulder. The second referral was rather more controversial. Harmison was working up a good head of steam when he pinned Sarwan on the crease with a full-length lifter. Hill initially raised his finger to prompt wild celebrations from England, although up in the replay booth, Harper was not so convinced. Under the provisions of the system, the umpire is not permitted the full HawkEye replay, he can only see up to the point of impact. After imitating that there might be an issue over height, Hill took the decision to reverse his initial judgement – and moments later the rest of the world was able to see that the bails would indeed have been removed.
… but West Indies dominated proceedings © AFP
England, who have never encountered the system before, were actually rather naïve in its use. Twice in their innings they made unsuccessful attempts to reverse lbw decisions against Harmison and Panesar (although given how late in the innings those moments came, that was fair enough). What was less sensible, however, was the hot-headed decision to refer an lbw appeal against Sarwan, on 2 at the time, that was clearly sliding down leg. With only two referrals per innings, it was a bad waste, and had they held their horses, they might have been able to claim Sarwan’s wicket from the final ball of the second session, when Broad was shown to have had a case for a second opinion from a delivery that would have clipped leg stump. In the first session of the day, England’s lower-order made light of the early dismissal of Flintoff, who cut Daren Powell to point without adding to his overnight 43, to chisel their way past the all-important 300-mark. The bulk of their runs came thanks to a classy 64 from 109 balls from Matt Prior, whose cover-drive was in fine working order as he bombarded the off-side with a fusillade of full-blooded strokes. Any hint of width was flogged through the covers, three times in three overs, and he even picked off a rare on-drive when Taylor strayed onto middle-and-leg.Prior brought up his fifty with an edged drive through third man, but it was due reward for the counterattacking instincts he had brought to England’s innings. It was the man of the first day, Benn, who finally brought his stay to an end. From the third ball he faced, Prior attempted to loft a drive back over the bowler’s head, but Benn used his 6’7″ frame to reach coolly to his left and intercept the chance. That was Benn’s third wicket of the innings, and when he wrapped up the innings with the wicket of Panesar, he finished with the hugely creditable figures of 4 for 77 from 44.2 overs. If that was a measure of how the rest of the match would pan out, however, it was alarmingly wide of the mark. In reply, Panesar’s first 15 overs were both wicketless and uneconomical, and the ease with which Gayle and Sarwan pushed through to the close left England with more than a few worries as they headed towards the mid-point of the match.

Australia unlikely to grant Chingoka visa

Next week’s ICC executive meeting, scheduled for Perth, could face cancellation

Next week’s ICC executive meeting, scheduled for Perth, could face cancellation after the Australian government warned that Peter Chingoka, the Zimbabwe Cricket chairman, would require “very particular grounds” to be granted a visa to enter the country.”Australia’s sanctions are an important mechanism for applying pressure on the Mugabe regime,” a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman told AAP. “They send a clear signal that the government holds the Mugabe regime and its closest supporters accountable for the tragedy occurring in Zimbabwe.”Less than a month ago Chingoka was named by the Australian government on a list of 254 people banned from entering the country because of his links with the Mugabe regime. However, last summer, in the light of Chingoka being made unwelcome by the UK authorities, the ICC executive took a decision that all members should be permitted to attend meetings. To that end, David Morgan, the ICC president, has been in regular contact with the Australian foreign office to try to persuade them to allow Chingoka into the country, just to attend the get-together. Sharad Pawar, who as well as being the ICC’s vice-president is also India’s agriculture minister, is also believed to have been leaning on the authorities.Chingoka, who is the longest-standing member of the executive by more than a decade, could offer to stay at home, freeing the way for the meeting to go ahead without him, but it is reported he is reluctant to do this. He already agreed not to attend next summer’s annual meeting at Lord’s to allow that to go ahead, but is said to be insistent that the issue of where he can and cannot go be resolved. If attempts to allow Chingoka into Australia fail then it will mean that the ICC executive cannot meet in Australia or England while he remains Zimbabwe’s representative. The same applies to the ICC chief executives’ committee while Ozias Bvute, ZC’s managing director, is in office. Sources in Australia, however, maintain that the Australian government would be left acutely embarrassed were they to back down so soon after declaring Chingoka, as well Bvute, persona non grata. The ICC on Thursday could not confirm whether Chingoka had applied for a visa to visit Australia, and attempts by the domestic news agency, Australian Associated Press (AAP), to contact ZC’s headquarters were unsuccessful. An ICC spokesman did, however, tell AFP that the meeting would go ahead regardless of his absence.Among other agenda items, the meeting is due to hear the results of the fact-finding trip to Zimbabwe headed by West Indies board chairman Julian Hunte in November.

Nafees steers Dhaka to victory

The Dhaka Warriors moved into fourth place in the league and kept their semi-final hopes alive by beating the Chandigarh Lions by eight wickets in Panchkula. Shahriar Nafees led Dhaka’s charge and his unbeaten 73 ensured that the target of 138 was achieved in the 18th over.Nafees’ task was made easier by Dhaka’s bowlers who had backed up their captain Habibul Bashar’s decision to field by restricting Chandigarh to 137 for 9. After conceding 23 off the first two overs, Dhaka struck three rapid blows that irreparably damaged Chandigarh’s innings.Mohammad Sharif landed the first in the third over when he induced TP Singh to sky a pull to midwicket. Tapash Baisya struck the second, trapping Sarabjit Singh, who was given out after a referral, leg before off the last ball of the fourth over. The very next delivery, an awful mix-up resulted in Lou Vincent being run out without facing a ball. Dhaka had gone from 25 for 0 to 29 for 3 in nine balls. They continued to lose wickets periodically and though three middle-order batsmen got starts – Chetan Sharma, Andrew Hall and Bipul Sharma scored more than 25 – no one got past 30. Mohammad Rafique was Dhaka’s most successful bowler, finishing with 3 for 28.The target didn’t require a slam-bang approach and Dhaka’s openers Nafees and Nazimuddin began steadily. They scored only 15 off the first three overs before tucking into Daryl Tuffey: Nazimuddin hit him for fours through cover and midwicket, while Nafees steered one to the third-man boundary. They batted sensibly, finding the boundary every other over while ensuring a steady stream of singles. By the time Nazimuddin fell, sweeping to midwicket in the ninth over, Dhaka had already reached 53. Aftab Ahmed fell soon after, and Nafees who was 33 at the time, became more determined to finish the job.Nafees found an aggressive partner in Alok Kapali, the ICL’s only centurion, and the pair added 76 in quick time to complete the victory. Both batsmen favoured the midwicket region, and sent the ball sailing over the boundary. Kapali raced to 32 off 17 balls and Nafees hit Love Ablish for three fours to improve his strike-rate. The end was emphatic – Kapali pulling the Chandigarh captain Hall to the midwicket boundary to spark off celebrations.

Liverpool transfer update on Saul

Some Liverpool fans have been left fuming as a transfer update emerged involving Saul.

As per Goal, Chelsea have now been offered the chance to sign the Atletico Madrid ace on a loan deal for the rest of the 2021/22 season, and could negotiate an option to buy of a fee in the region of €45m (£38.5m).

There have been a number of reports linking the Reds with a move for Saul throughout the summer window so far, but it looks as if Thomas Tuchel’s team could beat them to his signature if they are not careful.

The Spain international has impressed so far in La Liga this term, recording one assist in his two games, as well as winning 7.5 of his duels per match and averaging 3.5 tackles, 1,5 shots and one clearance per appearance (Sofascore).

Nonetheless, at 26 years of age, he has not reached his peak yet, and Jurgen Klopp could do with another option in the middle of the park after the departure of Gini Wijnaldum.

Aston Villa reporter thinks Anguissa could join from Fulham

Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield reckons Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s athleticism could make him the perfect signing for Aston Villa.

While captain and talisman Jack Grealish has already left Villa Park for a British record fee of £100million during the window, boss Dean Smith has been busy welcoming a host of arrivals.

Emiliano Buendia has joined from Norwich City for a club-record fee, while the likes of Leon Bailey and Danny Ings have also completed big-money moves.

Anguissa, who suffered relegation to the Championship with Fulham last season, could be set for a speedy return to the Premier League as he is thought to be on Smith’s wishlist and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the central midfielder.

The Cameroon international has made two appearances so far this season, with Fulham taking maximum points in the fixtures he has featured in.

Hatfield feels 25-year-old Anguissa would be a hit at Villa Park.

He told The Transfer Tavern: “Midfield is the area Villa probably need to address most. Anguissa is an interesting one because he has been linked with Villa previously and it didn’t surprise me to see the links come up again this summer.

“When Fulham previously dropped into the Championship, we saw Anguissa didn’t really fancy it and went out on loan. It could be a possibility again.

“He does seem to fit the mould of what Villa need as he offers that battling mentality in midfield, athleticism and can cover the backline.”

Twenty20 television profits to go to WICB – Stanford

Allen Stanford has said he would like his investment to be paid back each year by money earned through television rights

Allen Stanford, the Antigua-based billionaire who bankrolls the West Indies domestic Twenty20 competition, has said he would like his investment to be paid back each year by money earned through television rights. But he added that any profits he made in terms of the programme in the Caribbean would go to the West Indies board.Stanford said his agenda for investing in Twenty20 was different from that of those backing the Indian Premier League and the Indian Cricket League. “Their [IPL and ICL] agenda is totally commercial: to do something to make money for themselves and their investors and so on,” Stanford told the Barbados-based .”My agenda is to, hopefully, recoup the investment, which is very substantial, that I have made and generate a profit down the road, where that road is hopefully shorter than longer for the West Indies cricket programme. I don’t need to have this as a reason for me to make my stake in future finances for life. I’ve already done that.”Stanford said while he would get marketing and branding from such a venture, the huge satisfaction he got from supporting West Indies cricket was paramount.”It is a lot of fun and I am doing something for a place that I love to be in. Charity is part of it, business is a smaller part of it, but ultimately, business is going to have to make sense here. We are going to have to make some money out of this and that will happen in due course.”
