It proved to be a summer of change for Tottenham Hotspur, with the most notable departure having been the sale of club record goalscorer, Harry Kane, following the Englishman's £100m move to Bayern Munich.

The 30-year-old goal machine was followed out the door by fellow academy graduate Harry Winks who sealed a £10m switch to Championship side, Leicester City, while Davinson Sanchez was another remnant of the Mauricio Pochettino era to have moved on permanently, joining Galatasaray for a reported fee of £12.8m.

Aside from a raft of further loan departures – including Djed Spence following Joe Rodon to Leeds United – the north Londoners also saw diminutive forward, Lucas Moura move on to pastures new after just over five years on the books at N17.

The experienced Brazilian had originally been snapped up from Paris Saint-Germain back in January 2018, although the 31-year-old was sent packing this summer with chairman Daniel Levy making a sizeable loss on his initial investment.

As it proved, the Lilywhites ultimately allowed the misfiring marksman to leave at the end of his contract back in June, with the club unable to recoup any of their initial investment in the former PSG man.

There may be those who believe that the forgotten figure should have been allowed to depart far sooner amid his slide down the pecking order, with the 2018 transfer having perhaps not quite gone as expected, despite Moura's haul of 39 goals and 27 assists in 221 games in all competitions.

Liverpool may have taken their time, and had plenty of moments to forget along the way, but eventually, they got their midfield rebuild done. If you cast your minds back, they got things underway fairly quickly, with the early arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, but Jordan Henderson and Fabinho's exits threw a spanner in the works.

The Reds' need for midfield reinforcements became an open secret, and their public failure to sign both Moises Caicedo – who they had reportedly agreed a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for – and Romeo Lavia looked set to end their summer on a disastrous note. But things soon changed.

First, in came Wataru Endo to at least give Jurgen Klopp an option in defensive midfield. Then, to complete the rebuild, in came Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

Now, the Reds have been told that they can begin talks to sign another option in the middle of the park for January, and one that they missed out on in the summer transfer window.

Given Thiago Alcantara's injury history, as well as Curtis Jones' fitness woes, Liverpool may feel as though they can never have too many midfielders. And, with that, they could turn their attention back towards Andre Trindade from Fluminese.

The Premier League giants did make contact with the Brazilian club over signing the 22-year-old, but had their attempts rejected, as revealed by Fluminese president Mario Bittencourt.

On a positive note, though, Bittencourt welcomed the idea of Liverpool opening talks for his midfielder ahead of a potential January move. He said, via Paul Gorst: "LFC's chief executive contacted me directly. I replied to him: 'My friend, I don't sell players now. If you want to buy now to take in January, we can start talking, or if you want to wait until December."

With that said, it will certainly be interesting to see whether Klopp and co pursue the Brazilian once again come the winter transfer window.

Should Liverpool sign Andre Trindade?

Liverpool may have solved their midfield problem in the short term, but given that Endo is 30-years-old and yet to show he really has what it takes at the top level, the addition of Andre in January could be crucial.

The Brazilian, compared to Endo, is just 22-years-old, and has plenty of potential to become an important part of Klopp's side. Statistically speaking, Andre has impressed at Fluminese, too.

According to FBref, the midfielder is in the top 99 percentile for pass completion rate, with 93.3%, as well as the top 93 percentile for take-ons completed, completing 1.66 per 90. Meanwhile, Andre also makes 5.57 progressive passes per 90, which is more than current Liverpool man Endo managed for Stuttgart last season.

So, it wouldn't exactly be a bad piece of business if Liverpool did sign Andre in January. It could be argued that, with his arrival, their midfield problems would be solved once and for all.

For now, Klopp's focus will be on ensuring that his side continue their good start to the Premier League season, having won three of their first four games.

Chelsea have a first-team player who may be tempted to leave if the right offer comes in, amid interest from one of Europe's top clubs, according to journalist Dean Jones.

What's the latest Chelsea transfer news?

Although the summer transfer window has not long ended, rumours continue to swirl about the future of a number of Chelsea players, with it now being revealed the club plan to sell Trevoh Chalobah in January, in order to balance their Financial Fair Play books.

Both Chalobah and Conor Gallagher could depart in the next transfer window, and the funds raised could be used to sign a new striker, with Mauricio Pochettino identifying a number of targets, including Brentford's Ivan Toney, who could cost up to £80m.

In the same article, Jones details that Napoli's Victor Osimhen is the Blues' number one target in attack, but the Nigerian is likely to be more expensive, as Napoli were holding out for a fee of £172m in the summer, and it is unlikely their stance has changed.

In order to fund a move for a top-level striker, Chelsea may be forced to cash-in on one of their key players, with Football Insider reporting they would be willing to accept a "ridiculous" offer for club captain Reece James, amid interest from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have long been interested in the 23-year-old, but he is currently tied down to a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, having signed a £250k-per-week deal which is not due to expire until 2028.

James appears to be committed to Chelsea for the long-term future, but Jones has now suggested the right-back may be tempted by a move to Real Madrid if an offer came in.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, the journalist said: “The Madrid interest in Reece James is nothing new. I know this has been there for a while now, and the player has been aware of it. But currently, his complete focus has been on Chelsea, getting fit and emerging as a leader in this squad.

"The only thing Chelsea should worry about is if this season goes badly. The player is committed, but if they have anything like a repeat of last term, and Madrid make the offer for James, he’s got a decision to make. Turning that down would not be easy.”

There is nothing to suggest the England international is unhappy at Stamford Bridge, having previously made it clear he would be happy to spend his whole career with his boyhood club.

It has not been the easiest of years for the defender, having suffered with repeated injury issues, most recently being ruled out with another hamstring problem, which is set to keep him sidelined for a minimum of a few more weeks.

However, if James is able to put his injury problems behind him, his return could be a real boost for Pochettino, having been lauded as an "incredible footballer" by members of the media when he received more regular game time.

Leeds United endured quite the summer of ups and downs, with the transfer window resulting in a number of key departures, as well as impressive incomings. Daniel Farke was forced to say goodbye to the likes of Luis Sinisterra, and Tyler Adams, but was at least boosted by the arrival of Joel Piroe, who has hit the ground running at Elland Road.

Since the window has slammed shut, the Italian winger has been an important part of Farke's plans, too, and, with that, Leeds are still keen to keep hold of him when January comes around.

According to Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider, Leeds are set to offer Gnonto a new deal before January, which will include a wage increase. As things stand, the winger's current deal is worth a reported £20k per-week, and is set to expire in 2027.

So far this season, like the rest of the Leeds squad, Gnonto has been inconsistent, but has still shown some impressive glimpses. Having started four games, the teenager has one goal to his name, which came in his side's first win of the season against Ipswich. As the campaign goes on, and he potentially seeks to attract future suitors, there's no doubting that Gnonto will hope to have a hand in more goals.

At his best, the winger has earned plenty of praise, including from Gary Neville, who said, via The Daily Mail, last season: "To see someone so mature, so young is very unusual in that position. Sometimes you see potential and talent but watching him so closely, his understanding of where to be, his choice of pass, when to run with it, his awareness of teammates, really good honestly."

It's no surprise, given his talent, that Leeds are doing everything they can to keep hold of Gnonto. They successfully did just that in the summer, and now they'll be asked to repeat that achievement in January. The winger is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Such continued misery around Merseyside will likely have fans harking back to better times, of Howard Kendall’s magical managerial era, and even as recently as Roberto Martinez’s first term following David Moyes’ departure.

The Spaniard’s enthralling style of football has underpinned one of the younger generation’s only real memories of success, as they soared to a fifth-place finish, arguably deserving more, and would impress in the Europa League the following campaign.

Para o segundo tempo, Dome tirou Gerson da ponta esquerda, para onde foi Vitinho, e o utilizou como articulador no meio. O Flamengo passou a ter uma posse mais efetiva, circulando a bola. Mas veio do Inter a primeira boa chance da etapa final. Marcos Guilherme acertou a trave, da entrada da área.

Logo depois, Pedro e Filipe Luís estiveram muito perto de marcar. Em blitz, o lateral-esquerdo chegou a acertar o travessão, após bola rebatida. No lance seguinte, Patrick entrou na diagonal, invadiu a área, mas bateu para fora.

Reports suggest Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy could move to strengthen Spurs further in the January transfer window. Newcastle made contact over signing the Croatian, which came to no avail, as the teenage starlet completed his move to London on Monday in a transfer reportedly worth around £8.7 million. Vuskovic arrives at the club with a very stellar reputation as one of Europe's most exciting defensive prodigies.
